Valerie Lagrave

I was born in France as part of a family notorious for all members to be involved in medical and healthcare practices.

While helping look after a terminally ill friend, I was told by a physiotherapist that I had a natural gift for body work. I started a night course in Shiatsu early 1995, and then enrolled with The Irish School of Shiatsu late 1995 for a practitioner diploma course. I have been studying and working with various therapies since such as Holistic and Spa Therapies in SCD, Shamanism and Transpersonal Therapy with The Transpersonal Institute since 2004, where I voluntarily assist in workshops in Holotropic Breathwork since 2007.
I trained in Mayan Indigenous Shamanism in Chiapas, Mexico, studied Chronic Pain Management, attended workshops in Psychosis and Depression with The Institute of Psychosocial Medicine. I am currently studying for a diploma in Mental Health. I hold diplomas in Shiatsu, Stress management, Aromatherapy, Thai Yoga, Shamanic Healing and counselling, Sports injuries, Hot Stones massage, Nutrition and macrobiotics, Indian Head massage, Reflexology, Swedish massage, Infant massage, Lomi Lomi Nui, Spa therapies, Reiki, Crystal healing, Cards reading. I am passionate about Essential oils; they play a huge part in my work. I design my own oils blends for physical, emotional and spiritual aspects. These are available on demand.

The Tangerine Room-Valerie Lagrave. Holistic Therapist and Shamanic Practitioner

I love what I do, reading the body like a book that tells a story. Combining all learned therapeutic skills and natural intuition, I have developed my own way of doing massage, body work and healing. I work with each person organically, seeing aches and pains and ailments as the body's way to express what goes on deep in the Psyche or the emotions. While some conditions can be natural wear and tear of the physical body, they can be manifestations of upsets, traumas or blockages, which if worked on the physical level, naturally release themselves on an emotional level. This helps us to learn more about ourselves and move forward, or to manage living with some medical conditions, making them our allies by turning them in opportunities to grow. I offer one to one sessions giving listening time, and ongoing support to the people I work with. I offer treatments to accommodate all budgets, and a special rate for single parents. I also facilitate small workshops in simple holistic tools for everyday wellness.
